Rare Purple Sappharine and Opal Divinity Necklace - One of a Kind

Vintage Sappharine, a man made glass gemstone created in Germany around the 1950s shimmers at the center of this gorgeous piece. This purple sapphirine comes from a German collection of antique costume jewelry from auctions and estate sales. The vintage glass stones are removed from the pieces and made available for repurposing by new jewelry designers.

Sappharine was actually produced to look like Saphiret glass, which was made in Czechoslovakia up until the early 1900's and is now very rare and expensive. It seems that people are perpetually captivated by and attempting to recreate the beauty from another time. 

This delicately crafted necklace showcases an enchanting 8mm faceted piece of purple sapphirine radiating with ethereal beauty, and delicately bordered by four tiny iridescent lab created opals.

This glass gemstone is sometimes referred to as opal glass, a magenta with a light purple shimmering flash. Like many precious stones, it's difficult to photograph and beautiful to behold.
